How should I send the photograph?+
It is essential to send the original uncompressed image, as it came from the camera or was received. Preferably in RAW or maximum quality JPEG format. Do not send it via WhatsApp or social media that compress images.

We can detect most manipulations, especially if common techniques were used. Very professional manipulations may be harder to prove, but metadata and structural analysis usually reveal evidence.
What is EXIF metadata?+
EXIF metadata is technical information that cameras and smartphones save in photos: date, time, camera model, settings, GPS location, software used, etc. It is very useful for determining authenticity.
What if the metadata has been deleted?+
We can still perform visual, structural, and physical coherence analysis (lighting, shadows, perspectives). The absence of metadata itself can be an indication of manipulation.

What is Error Level Analysis (ELA)?+
ELA is a forensic technique that detects differences in JPEG compression levels within an image. When a JPEG photo is edited and saved again, modified areas will have different compression levels than the rest, revealing manipulation. It is especially useful for detecting photo composites, cloning, and inserted objects.
Can you analyze old scanned photos?+
Yes, although the analysis of scanned analog photographs is different. We focus on detecting digital manipulations made after scanning, verifying the authenticity of the digitization process, and analyzing possible retouches. For old physical photos, we also offer physical support analysis if available.
Can you detect the use of artificial intelligence in photos?+
Yes, we use specific techniques to detect AI-generated images (Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion) or AI-enhanced images. We look for characteristic patterns in textures, impossible geometries, physical inconsistencies, generation artifacts, and other signs that reveal synthetic content. AI generators leave specific detectable "fingerprints."
What image formats can you analyze?+
We analyze all common formats: JPEG/JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, GIF, RAW (CR2, NEF, ARW, DNG, etc.), HEIC, WebP, and many others. RAW formats are ideal because they contain more forensic information. We also work with images extracted from PDFs, Word documents, or screenshots, although with limitations.

What if the photo comes from WhatsApp or social media?+
Platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter automatically recompress images when sending or uploading, which removes or modifies EXIF metadata and hinders forensic analysis. It is always better to work with the original image. If you only have the compressed version, we can analyze it but with significant technical limitations and warnings in the report.
Is an image downloaded from WhatsApp usable?+
It's much less useful: WhatsApp recompresses images and strips EXIF metadata, so the date, device and geolocation are lost. Always provide the original file from the gallery or camera.
Can you detect if a photo was generated by AI?+
Yes, through noise consistency analysis, generation artifacts, compression patterns and the absence of a sensor signature. Detection is not infallible on heavily reprocessed images, and the report states the degree of certainty rather than making a categorical claim.
Can you prove where and when it was taken?+
If the EXIF data retains the date and coordinates, yes, and it is cross-checked against the image's internal consistency (shadows, light). If the metadata was deleted, the analysis relies on technical indicators and the evidentiary weight is lower.
