Right of withdrawal

What it is and how long it lasts

If you are contracting as a consumer, that is, as a private individual and outside your professional activity, you have fourteen calendar days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw from it without giving any reason and without any penalty. This right is granted by articles 102 and following of the consolidated Spanish Consumer Protection Act.

How to exercise it

Simply give us notice by any means that leaves a record, within the period. You do not have to explain why.

By email to [email protected], stating your name and your file or quotation number.
Using the form at the bottom of this page, completed and sent to that same address.
In writing to our registered office, which appears on the form.

Using the form is not compulsory: it is only there so that no detail is missing.

If you asked us to start straight away

On contracting you expressly ask us to begin providing the service within the withdrawal period, so as not to lose time with the notary. That does not take the right away from you, but it has two consequences: if you withdraw after we have started, you must pay for the part of the service already provided, in proportion to what has been performed; and the right ends once the service has been fully performed.

When the money is refunded

We refund whatever is due within fourteen calendar days of receiving your notice, through the same payment method you used, at no cost to you. Notary tariffs, taxes and official fees already paid to third parties are deducted from the refund, with their receipt.

When it does not apply

The right of withdrawal belongs to consumers: it does not apply if you contract as a company, as a professional or as a self-employed person in the course of your business. Nor does it apply once the service has been fully performed, where you asked us to start it within the period.

Who you are contracting with

Notario.org is the trading name of a private legal and notarial services firm. We are not a notary's office, we are not a public authority and we are not affiliated with any. The document is authorised by a notary, an independent public official, who is responsible for it.
