Frequently asked questions

Is it compulsory to use a sign language interpreter?

No, it is not compulsory. The process is adapted to your communication preferences and needs. You can choose between an LSE interpreter, real-time subtitles, or written communication during the video call. You decide which system works best for you.

Does the power of attorney have the same validity even if the process is adapted?+

Yes, absolutely. The adaptation of the communication process in no way affects the legal validity of the power of attorney. The document granted has full legal effect throughout Spain, the same as any other power of attorney.

What if the notary does not know sign language?+

The notary does not need to know sign language. That is precisely why we coordinate a certified LSE interpreter who acts as an intermediary during the video call, ensuring that both the notary and the grantor understand each other perfectly.

Can I review the document before the video call?+

Yes. Before the video call we send you the full draft of the power of attorney in writing so you can read it at your own pace, review it, and ask us any questions. The notary will not authorise the document until you have given your approval.

How long does the video call last?+

The approximate duration is 30 to 45 minutes, although we adapt to each person's pace. If you need more time to understand or communicate, the session can be extended without any additional cost.

Can I have a support person with me during the video call?+

Yes. You can have a support person or companion during the video call. The notary will verify that you are acting freely and voluntarily, but the presence of personal support is perfectly compatible with the notarial act.

How much does the service cost?+

The price of the adapted power of attorney for people with hearing disability is €285.00, VAT included. This price includes notarial fees, process management, and coordination of the necessary communication support.

How long does it take to obtain the power of attorney?+

The complete process is usually completed within 24 business hours of us receiving the necessary information and confirming the details of the power. Interpreter coordination is carried out in parallel so as not to delay the process.

Is a paper copy issued?+

No. The service includes only the authorised electronic copy of the power of attorney, with the notary's digital signature and full legal validity. No paper copy is issued, which speeds up the process and avoids the need for travel.

What documents do I need to start the process?+

You need your national ID card (DNI) or valid passport, and the details of the person to whom you are granting the power (the attorney-in-fact). Some types of power of attorney may require additional documents, which we will inform you of at the start of the process.

Can I grant the power of attorney from abroad?+

Yes. The service is 100% online and can be completed from any country in the world. If you live outside Spain and have a hearing disability, this service is particularly useful for avoiding unnecessary travel.

Who provides the interpreter?+
We coordinate it for you with professional Spanish sign language (LSE) interpreters, with no arrangements needed on your part. If you prefer to bring your own interpreter, that is also possible.
Does the law allow signing this way?+
Yes: notarial legislation expressly provides for the necessary support for people with sensory disabilities, ensuring full understanding of the act.
Is there an additional cost?+
The interpreter service is quoted together with the procedure, as a fixed price with no surprises.
Do documents signed online have the same validity as those signed in person?+
Exactly the same. Law 11/2023 recognises the full legal validity of notarial documents executed by video call with a qualified electronic signature before a registered notary.
Do I need a digital certificate?+
Yes, to sign electronically you need a digital certificate or an electronic DNI. If you do not have one, we help you obtain it quickly before your appointment, with no additional handling fee.
Can I do it from abroad?+
Yes, the notarial video call works from any country. You only need a stable connection, your valid identity document and a digital certificate.
How much does this service cost?+
The quote includes the official notarial fees set by the Notarial Association plus our handling, fixed before you start and with no hidden costs. Request it with no obligation via WhatsApp or the form.
What if I have questions during the process?+
Our team supports you from start to finish via WhatsApp, phone or email, and the notary answers all your legal questions before signing.
